III. Interesting tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

Before we begin, I would like to send a big thank my friend who diligently searched for many places and took us to see everything so that I can review them for you now. If I had planned the trip, I would have chosen only 3 – 4 places because I don’t really into checking in tourist attractions, but prefer relaxing and experiencing the local culture more.

1. KL Tower: Buy tickets to visit Sky Deck & Sky Box

KL Tower is the tallest tower in Kuala Lumpur, where you can buy tickets to go up and admire the city from above and take pictures. There are a few options for you to choose from:

  • Sky Deck & Sky Box ticket: With Sky Deck, you will go up to a high floor to see the city, at a height of 421m, while Sky Box is a glass cage where you can take pictures in mid-air.
  • Sky Walk ticket: you will walk on transparent glass, with a broken glass effect to increase the thrill.
  • Observation Deck ticket: Similar to Sky Deck, but here you will see the city from a lower floor, at a height of 276m.

I only bought the Sky Deck & Sky Box ticket (bought it through Klook), but when I got there, it was raining so I had to switch to the next day. Unfortunately it was super crowded the next day, before that I was also very excited about the Sky Box, but it was quite disappointing to see it in reality, because it was tiny glass room, and each person would only get to go in there for a few minutes for a picture and then leave, also it took a long time to wait for your turn, so we gave up on the Sky Box ticket.

Also, the front yard outside KL Tower is quite beautiful, with a green grass and a view of the Merdeka 118 tower too.

2. Petronas Twin Towers: This place is probably a must-visit for everyone when they come to KL, I recommend going during the day because the pictures will be more beautiful, at night it looks better but the pictures will be backlit and lack of light.

The Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest twin towers in the world, with a height of 451.9 meters. They are connected by a skybridge at the 41st and 42nd floors, which is also open to visitors. You can buy tickets to visit the skybridge and the observation deck at the 86th floor, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The tickets are limited and sell out quickly, so you should book them online in advance. The towers are also surrounded by a beautiful park with fountains and sculptures, where you can relax and take photos.

3. Suria KLCC: A shopping mall inside the twin towers, very classy, with all kinds of brands. You can watch my video for more details.

Check out my video here for more information!

4. KLCC Park: A park next to the twin towers, nice to chill here at night.

5. Saloma Bridge: A starry bridge that lights up at night, creating a beautiful contrast with the skyline.

6. China Town Alley: This place is in Kwai Chai Hong alley on Petaling Street, Chinatown. It is a colorful and lively street with murals, lanterns, and shops.

7. Pavilion: A luxurious shopping mall, where you can buy a Tesla and ship it home 😀

8. Batu Caves: Remember to wear long pants or skirts here, you need to climb 272 steps to get to the cave above, so wear something comfortable and easy to move.

9. Jalan Alor Night Market: Come here at night to eat and drink, there are many dishes here, from snacks to main courses, fruits, ice cream, everything, we went to this area and heard alot of Vietnamese 123 zo haha

10. Petaling Street: This area is not very interesting during the day, it looks like a small market.

11. Sri Maha Mariamman Temple: Sri Mahamariamman Temple, this is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It looks quite beautiful from the outside, so you can come here and take pictures.

12. Thean Hou Temple (Thien Hau Temple): I saw many couples come here to take wedding photos, this place also has a wedding venue for the Chinese community. Come here to pray for love, it must be very sacred. This place has a red color scheme + Chinese patterns, very photogenic.

13. Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan / The Federal Territory Mosque: Here you will experience a free tour around the mosque, with a guide who will introduce you to Islam very interestingly, you should try it. Before entering the mosque, you will also be given Islam clothing.

14. Merdeka Square: I think if you have time, you should come here and chill at night, they sell a lot of delicious juices here, you can have a picnic at the square. This is also where Malaysia declared its independence in 1957, so it has historical significance.

15. KL Central Market: It’s a market, but it has air conditioning, so it’s cool and comfortable to shop, it’s not too crowded, I think this place mainly sells souvenirs, you can come here and buy chocolate and milk tea packets as gifts.

16. REX KL (Bookstore): I saw this place was trending on Malaysia’s tiktok so I tried it, the bookstore is divided into different floors, very beautiful and suitable for taking pictures

17. River of life: This place is next to the square, so you should combine it with the square for convenience, at night they light up the river with blue lights and smoke, it looks like heaven.

These are the places I visited on my trip in September 2023. You can watch the video I attached above for more details.

And the next article will be the section you are waiting for, “what to eat in Kuala Lumpur?”, stay tuned!
